Corbin pitches well for a handful of innings then has a bad inning and blows up. At this point he should probably be the most expensive middle relief pitcher in baseball.

He’s a sold four-inning opener.

Since the beginning of 2020, the team is 15-30 (.333) when he starts, 82-108 (.431) when he doesn't.  That's not so great.

It's time to Ian Kennedy him or send him to the glue factory.

There has to be somebody that can help him.  Maybe an old high school coach or somebody he worked with in the minors that can try to fix him.  The Nats need to find that guy asap.  I thought watching Fedde pitch was bad, but this is just painful.  Yeeesh.

they have to give up the idea that they can restore some of his value by fixing him as a starter so that they can off load a portion of his contract. But, with a strategy of record doesn't matter this year, I don't think they pull the plug on multi inning primary pitcher until he blocks someone.

I'd rather watch Aaron Sanchez try and build value to be dealt at the deadline than watch Patrick Corbin show that he is no longer an effective pitcher in the rotation.

You’re making the large assumption that he can go multiple innings.

they are. He'll get enough rope to hang himself.

I don't really pull in Brooks baseball and the pitching plot, but what davey said was his stuff was /is fine, it's just when he elevates it and throw too many fastballs, he gets hit.  I recall a pitching chart Slate threw up from one of his better games this spring, and basically there was nothing in the strike zone above the belt.  Anything elevated was off the plate trying to get a chase.  I don't understand how he gets away from that almost regularly.

After looking a Davey's face while Corbin was melting down in the 2nd inning yesterday, I think Davey is doing what he is told.  Rizzo and the Lerners are the decision makers on what to do with Corbin, while Davey is left to try to cobble together 7+ innings from a bunch of JAGs.

He will pitch every 5 days. Gray will pitch every 5. So Will Adon.

They’re struggling enough figuring out the other slots without having to figure out Corbin.

In another week they lose 3 pitchers, so it's going to get painful to relieve Corbin if he continues getting pounded early.

Once there is some room between us and .500, they will be more comfortable leaving him in to get bombed.

Apparently Corbin has the most earned runs since 2020 at 166. He also leads the season with 17 ER. I know the Nats will keep trotting him out there, but if they convert him to a reliever, is effective, and the Nats eat LOTS of salary, he could be moved.

Could is the stressed word there. We can all dream and hope, right?

Doubt corbin wants to move to the bullpen. seems like the kind of guy who would throw a passive aggressive fit

his greatest career moment came in relief.  You'd think he'd be able to get by with 60% sliders, 40% fastballs, for 1-3 innings.

playoff relief appearances a different animal. it's just a hunch but he pegs me as a guy who wants to tough it out every 5th day rather than sit in the bullpen with a bunch of guys who would be out of baseball if not for the nats

I mean, the Caribbean League No-Star team that hangs out in the Nat's dugout between innings isn't much better.
