Thanks. I will be driving so rain is better than snow. Coming through SW VA tonight. Looks like rain, snow and ice there.

yeah, late tonight is not going to be travel weather.  The snow is supposed to roll into the D.C. area after midnight

Coming back Thursday evening. Please have it gone by then.

Have a trip to Chicago in early March. Crossing the fingers for that one.

Just got back from Chicago. Weather caused havoc in my day. I always kick myself for going there in winnter. But I love the city and never learn.

Hoping the weather won’t be bad in March so we can walk around. Unfortunately we will miss the green river by a few days.

I like to think of myself as a smart person, but I realized a few months ago that the fact that I only visit my parents in Chicago for Thanksgiving or Christmas actually proves I'm really dumb. Hoping to go for 4th of July this year instead.

I dread the travel to New Hamster Dec - early March. This trip looks ok. Monday snow was driveable, flight to DC gets in at 6 tonight so l miss the toughest times.

That can be it’s own kinda miserable. But it’s better than bitter cold. The sweet spots are June and September.

After spending the past 3 Christmases in Wisconsin, I'm right there with you.  Time to break the bad life decisions circle and go visit for Labour Day.

July in Chicago is no worse than July in DC.

But by this time you should be very aware to avoid it in winter, what's wrong with you ???

Did the wind arrive there?  Yesterday was a brutal drive back to Ohio.

it got really windy last night, I was woken by the house shaking at around 2 AM.  This morning I weaved around everyone in my neighborhood's trash cans on the way out.

It started up in western Maryland in our drive back yesterday and lasted all the way to Cincy. Gone today but cold. I don’t recall wind ever lasting that long other than a tropical storm.

Listening to it, hoping my roof didn't come apart, the thought crossed my mind.    It's over 12 hours of a strong (way above normal) wind.

At one stop yesterday I got out of the car and was getting ready to shut the door when the wind did it for me.  We stopped for gas in eastern Ohio and the gas stations were all close due to a power outage.

Driving I was mostly worried about those trucks. Tipping over or stuff breaking loose and hitting the car. Two hands on the wheel all the way.  Caught some Pirates baseball on the radio.

It was breezy in OBX today, but wind isn't unusual.  Slightly warmer than usual

Damn, dude !  I hadn't realized that you were that old...  :P

I had you pegged as a late-30-something, maybe early 40's.  That's both a compliment and an insult btw.  :D

At 61, you can't just still have that standard !!!

I mean, that's pretty much middle-aged these days.  You're not even Viagra aged yet... :D :P
