I remember those. We used to buy four. For about what I pay for one now. :|
The 16 oz Pilsener Urquells were decent, especially back when they were five bucks before first pitch.  Also the Flying Dog IPA (Snake Dog?) cans that the Beer(Wo)men (Hi Christy!) were lugging around for a few months several seasons ago.

If the Nationals enter a rebuilding phase, we'll get cool stuff like passes where you can pay a flat fee to attend as many games as you want (the Padres pioneered this) or single-ticket double-headers. Plus it will purge all the posers from the center field common areas.

They already have this.

So what contracts are sunk? Who do you keep to build around?

My guess is that you could conceivably move the following this season:

Rendon
Turner
Doolittle
Barraclaugh
Kendrick
Dozier
Adams
Eaton

You aren't trading Trea given his age, skill set, position, and number of years he's still under team control.

I would start with Robles, Soto, Turner and possibly Doolittle.  Everyone else can be traded/let go.  Rendon would bring a haul in a trade.  Trade him.  I think Grant and Danny talked about Ray Knight being an awful pick for manager.  While I agree he'd be a Trump-like pick (increasing the possibility of embarrassing the club), I also think he'd bring some much needed grit to this team and this is where we're lacking. He clearly understands baseball.

He'd be a rental.  Rental's usually don't bring in a haul.

It's already too late. Rendon loses value, daily. Several teams will want to upgrade third base in an attempt to make a run. This needs to be done now.

J.B. Bukauskas and Garrett Stubbs should be in our farm system. That was what the Astros offered for half a season of bad Bryce Harper.

Rendon should get you Jesus Sanchez and Lucius Fox from the Rays.

Kimbrel brought in Margot and other decent prospects. Given what Kimbrel is going to cost in money, Doolittle, if healthy, gets at least that. The Braves might be desperate enough to cough up Pache and another prospect.

Eaton will bring back something. Maybe to the Padres for Xavier Edward's?

Gomes will get a low level prospect. Maybe Suzuki too.

At this point -- whatever you can get. Never thought I'd even think about this -- the time is right to shop Max around (did I just say that?).  That's the sort of difficult decision a team caught in the middle needs to make.

Trade everybody, why not. You'd probably get 25 prospects, two of which would eventually make the majors.

This is stupid talk.

To me, it's question of when you expect to seriously compete once again.  I'm looking at 2022.

Judging by Rizzo's record, you'll get more than that. And two more prospects is better than two less and a losing season.

For those curious, Bukauskas has an ERA of 9.56 in 5 games/3 starts at AA Corpus Christi this year and Stubbs is hitting .207 at AAA Round Rock. He hit .310 last year but for the most part hasn't hit well in the minors. That said, the deal still should have been made and the blame is on Mark Lerner for undermining Rizzo on it.

Bukauskas has electric stuff but injury concerns. He has three plus pitches. At worst, you were looking at a dynamite reliever.

Here's the thing: The Nats have no pitching prospects. Mason Denaburg is the closest they have to one and hes a crap shoot at this point. They have three top 100 prospects (at the start of the season) and then a dearth of anything notable after that.

And those non-top 100 prospects are the ones Rizzo uses to bolster the team. It's how you end up with a Trea Turner, Felipe Rivero, and Brandon kintzler

Will Crowe says hi.   Fedde is a prospect too.

Fedde is crap. Dude can't throw strikes.

Will Crowe projects to a ceiling of back of the rotation starter. Like, Jermey Hellickson is what you hope for. That's nice, but that is a bottom of the barrel prospect. Which is exactly what I'm talking about.

If they trade Harper for Bukauskas,  hes their best pitching prospect by a lot.

Has to be done. Rendon is hitting. Trade him now. Get as much as you can. Same for Doolittle.

Yes. It is time to blow this crap up. Rendon, Doolittle, and Scherzer go for prospects. Just “NOT TO THE PHILLIES”!!!! Sad but the right thing to do.

Scherzer? Nothing unless the Lerners are willing to eat some money.

Rendon? Probably similar to what Machado got last year.
