Wow, I really didn't know Atlanta's record was that bad. We could actually end up 4th in the NL East.

Not really.

Probably not, but a really bad streak by the Braves and a really good one by us could make it happen. The fact that it could happen shocked me.

We're 9 games behind them. It'd take a miraculous run for us to catch them.

I hope Bergmann and not  :bball: is pitching tonight. I'm headed to the game with friends and out of town guests tonight. It would be nice to not be  :-[ embarrassed  :-[ by the hometown team again.

Don't get me wrong, I would love for that to happen. It would give the team a little confidence going into the off-season, especially with all the injuries we had to deal with this season. If we were to add a bona fide RBI bat to play corner outfield, fix our bullpen, and add a couple of starters we'd contend for the wild card in '09.   But we know the Lerner's won't go for that.  :?

Is that like an AZ joke about boners and stud outfielders?

It's just that I never saw "bona fide" used on here until AZ started saying it every day. Yes, that was your first AZ-esque comment of the year.  Mine was about Clippard's change. :?

Lineups posted. Nice of Chico to post them early.

I don't get why they are fooling with Bonifacio. He should not be platooning with Anderson Hernandez. Let Bonifacio play everyday! He looked great last night.

I don't really get what they are trying to do either.  Unless they think that Hernandez could be the future 2B (instead of Bonifacio), I don't see the point on pulling a guy from the line-up that is starting to catch fire.

It's simple really.  The Lerners want to draft Strasburg and since Bonifacio earned player of te game and is swinging a hot stick, we sit him down to ensure the loss.

Gosh, I thought it would be obvious.

I can't tell if your serious or not.  Though, the statement above would imply that the player you replace Bonifacio with in the lineup is playing worse, which Anderson Hernandez is not.  Him and Bonifacio have nearly identical statistics in the last 5 games:

Hernandez: 9 for 21, 9 total bases, 2 RBIs, 3 runs scored, 1 strikeout
Bonifacio: 7 for 19, 9 total bases, 2 RBIs, 6 runs scored, 5 strikeouts

That's hilarious. I hope you really don't believe that.

Bonifacio is batting .156 (5 for 32 with 11K's) against lefties.
