First sweep of a 4-match series since 1st-4th October 2009 (Atlanta away)...first sweep of a 4-match home series ever* (and only the second overall since the Nats relocated here)...MAKE IT HAPPEN NATS!

*The last sweep of a 4-match home series by the combined Expos/Nats franchise took place 25th-28th August 2003 (Phillies).

it's so nice to see us beating the teams we should beat.

...wonder if any of their middle infielders were involved (mostly on the receiving end) - they've been a disaster in this series of one-run results.

(Cubs have now dropped four consecutive one-run decisions - along with the three to the Nats they also lost this past Saturday at home to the White Sox, 1-nil - the loser was tonight's starter, Garza.)

Yes, with the caveat that we could just as easily be playing to avoid the sweep today.  Our run differential on the season is actually -1 now, and we're currently 1 win above our pythag.

Yup, all these one-run wins make me very nervous.  Still... they are the Cubs.

Good thing they went all in for this year and traded prospects for Garza.

Yeah, that was a genius move. Poor Garza went from contender to craptank.

You guys may think we've got bad ownership, but we've got nothing on the Cubs.

They've made really bad decisions on GMS and have stuck stubbornly to them, which has cost the Cubs big-time.  As a big-market team with a ton of history, a large fanbase, and money behind them, they should be perennial playoff contenders.

Yeah, those back to back Central Division titles have nothing on our 100+ loss seasons.

For those going tonight: Capital Weather Gang's NatCast has 'This may not be a rain out, but unless the thundershowers are fast moving or elusive, a delay looks a decent possibility. The good news it it should knock the heat down...briefly' with 60-70% chance of rain.

...looks like a third straight matchnight of under-20k attendance is on the way....

With how many years of futility surrounding them?  Anyway, it's easy to win the Comedy Central.

The Nats have never had a peak year. That's the point. We've sucked forever.

At least the Cubs have had success in the past decade.

Nationals/Expos

He was talking ownership groups, so Nats years only. I'm calling SSS on Nats years.
