it had to be six, Luckini is wrong. I found one other video that also showed just six pitches and here's the chart (ball one is almost off the chart)

(Image removed from quote.)
Pitch three probably technically touched the line.

It's been enjoyable to see Soto's success in NYC to start the year. We got the Yankees with Zimmerman's walk-off in 2006, and a great future as a result of Soto's trade to SD, so I'm happily watching his exploits. He is just hitting the ball hard wherever the pitcher puts it, and it's working for him this year. Fun to watch.

I'm watching the Yankees/Twins game and the Yankee announcers are saying Hal Steinbrenner is going to try to meet with Boras to sign Soto during the season.

Isn’t that something you just do rather than announce?

The fact that the Soto/Boras camp isn't immediately denying it probably means something is happening. At the end of the day Boras has to do whatever his client wants.

He thought he was in a place where the owners wanted to spend money to contend on a regular basis.  Now he has found that place and it’s his real home.

So, basically, he will go to the biggest paycheck.

Cant wait to see him on the Mets

Well yes that’s generally how contracts for the big stars work. Biggest money from a contender.

Having himself a day so far. His first multi-homer day as a Yankee. He's never leaving the Bronx.

Don’t care what anybody says, losing Soto was heartbreaking. I could live with Harper, Turner and Rendon but this one sucks. Hopefully Wood will make me forget about it lol

Might have been good to make him a better offer in 2022

There was no amount Soto was taking here in DC. He wanted to leave and was always going to go to the highest bidder.

I cant wait for him to perpetually lose as a Met

Keep telling my Yankees fan friend he’s going to the Mets. Pisses him off.

Yup.

And Boras wants to use him to reset the market.

I don’t think Soto WANTED to leave!  He just let Boras run the business side!  All he wants is to play ball!
He had himself in a NATS UNI on his cell and still reminisces about 2019!  He cried when he got traded.

He better make his wishes known or sign an extension!  Btw, how will the MUTTS afford him when they are still paying Scherzer and DeGrom and Lindor.

Verlander and Max roll off their CBT threshold next year, so that lower their tax tremendously. They paid off 2024 when they traded them. As for DeGrom, they don't owe him any money.

I think the Nats are better off with what they got for Soto than if they had kept him and signed him.

Looks that way.
