Ugh.  freak you Carpenter.  Blame Martis all you want, but that's Guzman's fault.  Pitiful fielding by him tonight.  Throw it higher, you dumbfreak.
QFT. That was an unbelievably bad throw. Not even remotely close to where it should have been.

A good throw throw gets Hanley.

I'd trade for him in a second. An .888 OPS out of a second baseman is awesome.

Not when in all comes in a 12-game stretch, and he f*ckin' sucks the other 150 games.

that was a poor throw by guz, but you have to run at the baserunner.

Would you rather have Belliard?

I agree but there isn't enough time for him to get more than 3 starts at most. Unless you want him to pitch on 3 days rest.
He can make 3 more starts after this.  You said he has 116 in the minors.  About 10 after tonight and about 10 in the Olympics gives him 136 so far.  He could get that up over 150 pretty easily.

Hmm, it's not 165, but still, 150 is a fairly decent starting point.  You could probably put him in the rotation after that.

That blown play was a big downer. If not for that play I believe he would have gotten out of this inning unscathed and had a quality start.

Here comes Charlie Manning to put this game out of reach.  Use freaking Hinckley for once. >:(

And let's not forget, that this was all made possible by that jackass umpire that refused to punch out Hanley on a pitch that was right on the inside corner.

That's what speed does, though. It makes the other team make mistakes. More than anything, this is why I like Bonifacio.

It's bullcrap. Manny said Manning has been up here longer so he gets precedence over Hinckley.

You asked that at the ASB.  Take a look at their stats - I called it d@mned near perfect.  Yes, I'd take Belliard over the biggest idiot to ever wear an MLB uniform.

He's been pretty inconsistent.  He had a generous inside corner all evening and then wouldn't make the call right there.  There was also a pitch that was identical that the first pitch that Martis used to freeze Uggla that didn't get called as a strike.

Martis looks pissed. He was great. Not his fault Guz made a poor play and the offense took the game off.

Basic baseball. That was little leage stuff. Hanley was dead meat. The throw was poor (not as bad as some have portrayed it here) but Martis has no one to blame but himself on that play.

I checked the stats and I don't think he pitched more than a couple innings in the olympics. I couldn't find more than 4.2 innings.

Awful AB by Jacobs.

That's the first time Manning has does something right in weeks.

Season stats > Splits

Uggla has an .888 OPS on the SEASON. Those numbers, especially out of a second baseman, would help any team.

That's interesting.  Well, I still think you can put Martis in the rotation to start the year.  If he pitches well enough, he's probably going to end up in the rotation at some point anyway, and if he has to get shut down at some point for having too high of an innings count, it makes no difference whether any portion of his innings have been thrown in the minors or not.

Last week Uggla broke the Marlin record for LOB at 254.  The old record was set by Uggla last year.  You have to really suck to leave that many men on when playing for a team near the bottom in OBP

All his stats came in a 12 game stretch.  He's sucked the other 150.  That, and leaving 90% of runners on are what matter most.

I wonder what the all time record for LOB is over an entire season.
