He should be nicknamed Captain Nathan's for his ability to share in eating hot dogs with Nats fans.

  Careful, you may get ripped for that comment.

disgusting. Perez freaking blows. That's what he gets for walking Church. He's such a freaking bad pitcher.

What is the reasoning behind this?

Because seeing a relatively unknown guy do that won't make a team retaliate as easily. Another reason is that hopefully he will grow up as he gets older. He still reacts after every homer like he just got lucky.

Don't get me wrong, I like the enthusiasm. It's obvious that he needs to control it bit more, though.

piss poor. If Bowden deserves to be fired for anything (not saying he should be) it should be for keeping jackasses like Perez on the roster for the entire season.

I'm pretty sure we're safe there. He won't be back. If he does we're in bad shape.

Fair enough. I agree.

I couldn't disagree more.  People jokingly call the NFL the "no-fun league" but baseball is still much, much worse.  The sport needs to stop being so uptight.  If a guy has a zest for the game, he should be able to celebrate proud moments on the field.  Things like Milledge's high-fiving of fans and Dukes's chest pump add an extra thrill to moments of triumph.

Ugh, Perez is such a piece of crap.  Will he even get out of this inning?

well, when you are a groupie for one player instead of a fan of the team, you tend to be satisfied when your idol hits a HR, even though the team gets whupped.

Get the freak out.  You are not a real Nats fan.

Putting Mock in the rotation seems like a really good idea right about now.

They think he's going to be a set-up man. I doubt they'd do that although I'd prefer it to this bullcrap.

freak ODALIS PEREZ!!

No where in there did I say a player can't celebrate. I love that crap. It's the way DUKES celebrates. If there was a celebration meter for each player - 1 being "shows no emotion" and 10 being "overdoes it" - Dukes would be at 10 after EVERY home run he hits. People should only reach 10 on a walk-off of any kind, IMO.

The way we've been ripping on Perez tonight and have ripped him in the past for "poor" outings makes wonder why people were having such an issue with us ripping Bergmann. It's not like Bergmann was the only one we jumped on for being awful.
Right. Redding, Bergmann and Perez are all the same to me. Can't stand any of them although Redding is the best of the worst.

It's not like we didn't tear up into Ayala, King, Colome, Sanches, earlier in the season Hanrahan, and others.

Yeah, blowing a kiss at the opposing dugout is a bit much.  But I think if he wants to celebrate in some manner every time he hits a HR, as long as it isn't too extreme, he should be able to.

Absolutely, but it should be a continuation of your swing, IMO.

And there you go.
