I really like Byrd, he isn't fast but he can hit

who else then me wants him as our leadoff hitter?
i'd rather see sori lead off and byrd/church up 6th behind zimm

why?

soriano would make a terrible leadoff man. .309 OBP and all.

and all that wasted power.....

Soriano is much better suited for the middle of the order.  and that is where we need him.

just because he's fast doesn't mean he is well-suited for batting leadoff.

It defies logic.

I don't think we would've had that play even if Clayton hadn't overthrown.  The wild pitch hurt though.

Drese ought to just walk Berkman if he doesn't think he can keep the ball down.

Phew, Berkman down

another carryover from years past: give up base hits to the pitcher! andy petitite has an rbi and our "rookie of the year" with runner on 3rd and 1 out does not have an rbi - go figure!

well, that's what happens when you make a 2nd Baseman play left field.

instead of trading for an outfielder.

rather: thats what happens when royce clayton makes an error, puts the #8 batter on 2nd and Drese gives up a single to the pitcher ....

12 Ks in 29 ABs so far.

but the difference is that he's not doing all the other stuff he normally does.  hit doubles, draw walks, etc.

By all rights that was a hit by Zimmerman.  Kudos to Everett on an amazing snag.
