Nice outing by Lannan
1 hit to the Brewers in 6 innings is commendable. He needs to work on his walks though.

Good job by Lannan to minimize the damage caused by the early error (the walks didn't help either).  Lannan ends the day with a decent line [6.0 IP, 1 H, 5 BB, 6 SO, 8:3 GO/AO].

6 IP 0 ER 5 BB 6 K for Lannan, assuming he exits now. That's probably the worst best game for him yet.

pretty safe assumption.  He is up third in this inning and is horrible at batting/bunting, plus is over 100 pitches.

I don't even want to watch the rest of the game, I know we're going to blow it in the most painful way imaginable.

Wow. 1 run scored in our last 29 innings. This crap can't get any worse.

Lannan looks pissed
and he should be.

the offense treats him like crap.  he pitches great games and they never score runs for him.

They can't get anyone to sing God Bless America live? I guess it is better than the one who sang the Star Spangled Banner.

It's like all of his starts are the same bullcrap. I know I'd be sick of it. He goes out and pitches a gem every time and he gets victimized by his defense and of course the offense takes the day off.

the fact is, this team can get on base. they can get hits.

we just don't have anyone who can get those clutch hits to drive in runs.

nobody comes through for us when the runners are in scoring position.

From the Nats media sheet:
Quote
Received just 58 runs of offensive support in first 20 starts of the season...according
the Elias Sports Bureau, over the last 10 seasons (1999-2008) the only other pitcher to receive as
few runs in his first 20 starts of a season was Freddy Garcia, who also got 58 runs of support in his
first 20 starts in 2004, for SEA and CWS.

JUst outta curiosity, becuz i know some teams put a cap on the number of innings they want a young pitcher to pitch especially in their first full season  as a starter.  I know Chicago used to do this with Woods and Prior.

Lannan has tha second most IP behind Redding i think. Any chance that his seasons gets cut short this season by tha Nats??
