Five '09 starters are in the lineup tonight. That's a positive.

Billingsley is a good young pitcher. Should we roll over for him like we did with Cain yesterday?  :?

He's turned into a pretty damn good strikeout pitcher. Could be a tough one.

Man, I wish I saw that Yankees-Red Sox game tonight. Ended up being a great pitching matchup.

Yeah, looked like it was a good one. For Joba to put up the kind of line he did at Fenway is impressive.

good start, John.

The D'backs are up 5-0 in SF tonight and it's only the 2nd inning.  :?

Now let's see if we can have an inning longer than 8 pitches!

How in the hell did both of them get to that one? That's not supposed to happen. Nice swing by Kearns, though.

Vin Scully apparently hasn't read up on the opposition...

"Johnny Estrada is the Nationals starting catcher, but wants to take the rest of the year off to heal from injures.  So this has become a golden opportunity for the young Flores."

bull crap, that's off the plate, no doubt at all in my mind. Umpires give him the call just because they are the Dodgers at home and we're the lowly Nationals.

Is Matt Cain pitching two straight nights?

Otherwise, that's irrelevant.

An 8-pitch inning followed by a 9-pitch inning.  :|

That was a terrible call on strike 3 to Milledge.

The fact is that we just got swept by the worst home team in baseball and as soon as we leave town the next night they are getting their teeth kicked in.

We're the worst team in baseball...apparently, that hasn't sunk in yet.

See. The first two pitches to Kent were right on the corner. But the Dodgers and Kent get the benefit of the doubt because this ump is freaked up.

Well, we did lose when they had Kevin Correia on the mound, and he isn't that great.
