Without knowing the numbers, I would bet Berkmann is close to .500 in his career against us.

If you commensurate Colome's salary to an everyday player he would probably make more money than A-Rod.  :?  He makes the most for the least amount of work and production in all of MLB.

LOLangerhans

That may have been the funniest Debbi Interuptis I've ever heard: "Ryan was told to shorten his swing..." and he immediately grounds out on a CHECK SWING.

  :worship:

It's Hispanic Heritage Night, so we're seeing all the Hispanics: Rivera, Colome, Flores, Lopez, Guzman, Lo Duca... we need to trade that one and...

Why the heck was he re-signed in the off-season? We had no obligation whatsoever to keep him any longer. I didn't get that signing one bit. Definitely one of Bowden's worst. He had a major fluke first half of last season but he quickly reverted to his old ways in the second half and has just gotten worse since then.

34 hits in 97 at bats (.351) coming into tonight's game. That is only against the Nationals not the Expos.

Wee Willie deserves to start everyday for the rest of the year at some position.  No more Pena, Walnuts, or Flop.

We need to trade him.  He can play catcher, left field and 1st base, so he can be Hispanic, if that will make the deal.  Especially if a legal-age hispanic girl is involved...  We can save $2 million if someone will take him.

WILLIE HARRIS HOMERS!!!!!!!

Nationals 3
Astronauts 6

PAULIE SINGLES (or will do singles...)

yuck. bad pitch to swing at. at least it wasn't a DP. It'd be nice if we could cash in that run on 2nd though.

Nice patience. We could really use a well-thought out AB by Belly here. A single will do.

They knew each other from when both were with the Mets.  Paulie must have something on Manny.  We can bench him Aug 1 if we can't trade him.  He's on display until the July 31 trade deadline.  Be patient.  Think about what we can do with $2 mill.

Imagine getting ALL 3 of Dunn, Holliday and Teixera for 2009...

At the very least, expect the Lerners to make trades to save money. They have been withholding the rent to save money so why not dump players to save more.
