Wednesday, July 9, 2008

Nationals beat writer Mark Zuckerman answers your questions Wednesday at 1 p.m. To submit a question, follow this link or click on "Media" then "Chats" and click on "Nationals Chat 07-08"

I say we send a whole bunch of "Wily Mo sucks" questions to Zuckerman.

Perhaps fun questions such as: "Would you rather be threated for gonorrhea, or have Wily Mo Pena hitting in your day to day lineup?"

Zuckerman, why are you still employed?

That's what I'd ask after reading this "Most expensive team money can buy" piece.

Or "most overpaid" - I forget the wording.

Surely you've seen this, JMad.

^A look at the link informs me that he said "Worst team money can buy"

If Carlos Beltran is a starting CF'er on any "worst" team, then I'll take that supposedly crummy team!

Why didn't the Nats trade Nick Johnson for Rich Harden?

I've met Zuckerman. He seems like a real nice kid but I wouldn't be surprised to find out he and Debbie Taylor were related.

The least you could do is to have your sarcasm button locked for us.

When you read a blue quote, you have to first presume it is humor, and approach it from that angle.  If that fails, either 1) you didn't get it, or 2) it was actually a serious post.

I thought it was funny that Zuckerman was kind of stumbling a bit in not remembering the deal.

I need to get a tongue in cheek emoticon or would that just look like a chaw?

Understood, but your original post made no reference to an author.   :icon_mrgreen:

At least these questions were good questions. The Post's chats are always like "What's your favorite part about the Nats, Chico?"

True, but I was also assuming anybody reading the thread had also taken a moment to click on the link to the chat, and would hence know from which I speak.   ;)
