Why is Pena starting?  He will cost us at least a run in the field and go 0-4 with 3 K's.  Langerhans has been hitting of late.

Casto and Pena are probably on the bench because we are facing a lefty. I still would prefer them over WMP though.

It's Manny's magic...

Which has us 12 games under .500

I know he hasn't had the best roster to work with, but still... Casto will do better against Sanchez even being a lefty than WMP. If I were him, I'd make my lineup:

1. Guzman SS
2. Dukes RF
3. Flores C
4. Boone 1B
5. Casto 3B
6. Milledge CF
7. Langerhans LF
8. Lopez 2B
9. Pitcher

I predict we lose 1-0 by a score of 1-0 and after the last out in the ninth score will be 1-0 and we will lose 1-0, they will score 1 run and we will score 0, but that is just after the last out of the ninth which we will be losing by only 1-0 so that is why we will lose 1-0 after 27 [not 26] outs, especially when they make the final 3 outs in the ninth inning which will cause us to lose 1-0. We will lose 1-0 after nine innings.

How in the heck are we -122 (ML) favorites in this game?

edit: When the Nats are favored over their opponents this year they are 4-8.  They are 21-29 when they are the dog.

Mock is a beast. I just hope he won't be too nervous considering it's his first Major League appearance of his career.

ugh, the guy on MASN just said that he thinks that they'll send down Sanches and/or Langerhans. Langerhans isn't good but he's eons better than Pena, Harris, and Mackowiak.  Why not send that terrible trio packing?  They are completely worthless.

I'm telling you, those three are part of the "Incredible Nats Offense/Bench" JimBo built over the off season. They'll never be sent packing because of JimBo's pride.

Yep.

2008 stats of that "terrible trio":
Pena 20/124 (.200 AVG) 1 HR 8 RBIs 33 Ks
Harris 11/73 (.151 AVG) 2 HR 7 RBIs 19 Ks
Mackowiak 7/53 (.132) 1 HR 4 RBIs 17 Ks

Total: 38/250 (.152) 4 HR 19 RBIs 69 Ks
