And Bergmann couldn't have done that?!

Yeah, I would have liked to see Bergmann another inning.

But we scored!!!

Which can quickly inflate to full blown beachballs the next game. We've seen it all before. Let's not go all AZ and start doing bathroom runs all over one game.

That being said, milk him for all he is worth.

17 minutes after I called for it, NOTLD declared it a fluke.

Guess Harris is doing a double switch.

Time to check the time from my previous post for the NOTLD fluke alert.

I'm not calling this a fluke. I am calling for "patience and maturity." Bergmann has done this all before: he has risen to the occasion one day and then become a complete nag the next.

I contain any excitement I have over him, but will gladly take what he has given us today.

He's the only reliever we have at the moment who's arm isn't dragging on the ground from over-use.  Schroder would be perfect!    :?

No. he struck out trying to bunt earlier.

Bergman did strike out earlier on 3 failed bunt attempts

I missed that.

He was still dealing last inning, though, so the pitch count shouldn't matter.

I'm not against putting the relievers in, I just hate when we take our pitchers out early and then hear about how we're overworking the bp.

He'll probably stay in the game in LF and whoever comes in to pitch will "bat" in the 7 hole.

Okay AZ 2.

That was an out-of-left-field response. I declared him "Last Chance" Bergmann yesterday.

Gotta agree - any inning where you fan the side should earn you continued work on the mound. :) It's true though, he struck out on three consecutive foul bunts.

Damn right.  It's his second best performance ever, and we really needed the lift.
