At least, he did something. I'm on gameday, so I don't know what he did.

Oh, flyout to drive one in.

Nieves, please consider hitting a home run.

No ******* patience whatsoever.  Wily Mo can't hit breaking balls and he's late on every single fastball.

They just said Lenny told him to think about driving it the other way. freaking retarded w/ a power hitter that likes to pull the ball. :?

Wow, what an awesome double!

Too bad about the whole losing big-time part.

No. I think we can get another inning out of him, and need to. Plus, we have no bench player capable of getting Nieves home at this point.

I don't get that move at all.  Why not use a pinch hitter? You have Colome and Hanrahan in the pen who can give you ample innings.

It's too early. He is our only long reliever. It's really the only move when you are thinking about the future.

Wil Nieves is far and away our best hitter at this point in time.  Yes, it probably won't last but over the last 2 weeks he has been our best.

Hanrahan can go 3-4 innings. Colome can go 2-3 innings.  They haven't pitched in a week.

He used to be a starter.  He's got the endurance.  I trust him as much as I do O'Connor to hold the opposition scoreless.

Quoted for veracity.

Ronny's right - we actually do have a chance to come back if we keep fighting and if O'Connor and the bullpen can step up.

Without that Fluke HR by Bautista this game would be tied.  :?

I trust him for one inning. That is it. He hasn't proven he can do more than that consistently yet. A 3-run deficit was close enough to keep O'Connor in. Different story if it was bases loaded and we were down 5 or so.
