I think his reputation exceeds his ability in some instances (i.e. our pitchers aren't nearly as aggressive as they should be in going after the zone, and they never have been in St. Claire's tenure), but you have to credit the man for consistently having such a patchwork pitching staff with which to work and making the most out of it.  He's done surprising things with very marginal players.
i'll give you the "marginal players" but i'd still like to think that our pitchers can be smarter

But you know, he had that one bad game at Dolphin Stadium earlier this year, so Captain Duncecap ensured us all that he's a terrible fielder who should step aside to the GODLY outfielder that is Elijah Dukes.

...not to mention that GODLY outfielder is hitting jack crap in A Ball Potomac.

Every time someone chases an outside bullcrap pitch from Glavine they should be fined a $100.

They need to only throw offspeed pitches to WMP in batting practice from now on.

1. Who is Captain Duncecap (for future reference)?
2. Elijah Dukes? Ick.

Dukes is such a team player, he wants to show all of our prospects on the Potomac roster how not to hit so that they'll all be as beastly as Dukes himself when they get called up for the Nats in the future.

Dukes's selflessness >>>>>>>>>>>>> the selflessness of every other rehabbing player in the minors

Pena is horrible.  He has taken 2 fastballs right down the middle (1 in each AB) yet swings at every changeup Glavine throws outside and in the dirt.

Redding's been awesome this season. He seems to get the least respect from the fans, though. Must be his age. :?

Dukes just hit a Walk-off RBI Single for Potomac. The P-Nats win 1-0.

Ah, there are several people I would have nominated for that nickname.

But yeah, I've only been here since ... since a couple games into the losing streak, I think.

Exactly my point earlier.  He just makes guesswork out of every pitch.  In the rare event that he actually does display a modicum of pitch recognition in a count, he usually negates that work by completely misjudging pitches later in the count.

At least they don't post that much. (and don't quite have broken record syndrome to the extent that AZ does)

I don't know about awesome but he's been solid as has Perez. And they have done it with different catchers behind the plate.
