Lannan had nothing in the tank as he gave up six runs in four innings against
the Braves last Saturday. Jeff Francouer did most of the damage, driving in
five runs against the youngster. Lannan acknowledged that he didn't follow
pitching coach Randy St. Claire's gameplan and he paid the price. After the
game, Lannan spent almost an hour watching video with St. Claire.

Figueroa made an emotional start in front of his hometown crowd last
Friday night, taking a no-hitter into the fifth inning and ultimately winning
his first decision since 2003. He was efficient with his pitches, throwing
first-pitch strikes with a fastball that rested around 87 miles per hour.
The effort was enough to earn him a start against the Nationals, whom
he's never faced. The last time Figueroa spent time in the Major Leagues,
they were the Expos, and he produced a 2.81 ERA in four career starts
against them.

Removed Spidernat's thread.  I posted first, plus, his lineups were completely off, including the supposed acorn nut we have on the mound.

Okay, ronnynat, sportsfan882, and spidernat, let me have it

We should kill Figueroa. If we score less than 4 runs off of him, it'll be a total letdown. He was actually in our system in '06.

I don't really care who posts it. I just did it just in case you weren't able to make it on time. And I had just fixed the lineups but I'm not that fast doing things on here.

I didn't even know Brady Clark was on the Mets. That dude's been on a lot of teams.

Yep. He used to kill us when he was on the Reds. We get a break on not seeing Beltran tonight.

I kind of wish they were playing Schneider, though. :?

Nieves starting? Yuck.  He can't be any worse than the other two though.

He's one of the worst hitters you'll ever see. He's far worse. Pretty great defensive catcher, though.

QTF. Our offense should explode over the next 3 games as we face 3 crappy pitchers (Figueroa, Miller, Badenhop).

Yeah he's usually an easy out.

Probably couldn't get Estrada's fat ass away from the buffet.

Yeah he's usually an easy out.

What's weird is that he has a pretty sweet swing. He should teach it to some better hitters.

It's limited though because it's sort of a cookie cutter swing that can only hit in one zone.

I've always been a fan of the uppercut swing. It's definitely harder to master, though. Griffey's is the best. I'm still a bigger of Zimmerman's uppercut swing than his line drive swing. I probably just miss the power in the lineup, though. :?

Ronnynat, did you see that the Wiz' first playoff game is at the same time as the Caps/Flyers Game 5 on Saturday?  That sucks although that game will be meaningless for the Caps if they lose tonight.

No, I didn't see that. When's the first home game? I'm going to that one.

Zimmerman needs to break out of his slump tonight. One homer from either WMP or Milledge would be nice, too.

What the hell does that mean? Cordero said he wasn't able to go through his full set of warmups to get ready for yesterday's outing. Would that really make him throw 10+ mph slower? And why wasn't he able to get ready in time?

Is there anyway to view the old gameday? The one from last year? I'm at work and it won't let me download the new adobe patch for it.
