It'd be nice if Schroder was up here or Sanches from Columbus (8.1 IP 1 H 0 BB 13 K). Nope, instead were stuck with a freaking headcase who can't throw a strike to save his life.  He walked a freaking relief pitcher.

So much for all the nagging people did when they predicted us to be this bad. We are that bad.

Yep, I never imagined a team could be this bad. And I'd say about 90% of it is on the offense.  I mean seriously, 2 freaking runs in 14 innings?  We might set new historical offensive lows this season.  Not one guy is hitting to his potential.  We had chance after chance to win the game and came up completely empty every time.

It's because we're used to an overachieving team. They just forgot to stop on their way back down to earth. :?

We scored 4 runs in 32 innings. That's 1 run per 8 innings or the equivalent of 1.12 ERA against us in NY :?

That's just shameful.  If Manny had any balls he'd call them out in the post game presser.  They faced a freaking journeyman piece of crap and he had probably the best game of his career. Then the Mets used a slew of terrible relievers who dominated us.  It's not like we had runners on or opportunities either.  We were just completely owned.

I can't wait until tomorrow night for Andrew Miller (0-2 with a 11.37 ERA) to pitch 7 scoreless innings for his first win of the season... Man am I pumped for that.

From the AP recap:

Quote
Lannan became the first rookie left-hander to record 10 or more strikeouts in a start without a walk since Noah Lowry did it for the Giants against the Mets in San Francisco on Aug. 20, 2004, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

two bright spots: lannan was absolutely filthy, and colome was  OUT!
