well, i would hope he would have the nationals offense in mind when he makes a move. dukes in a measly month will already lead the team in homers!

:woop: :woop: :worship: :worship: :worship:

edit: darn, schroder got out of the jam. i was hoping dukes would hit a walk-off homer!  ;)

Haha hey there's bacsik.

This is fantastic news concerning Elijah Dukes.  His bat will be a tremendous asset to the club (and he's a pretty decent outfielder as well).

Also good news for T-Clip.  Cut down on his walks and continues to punch out batters.  Even more impressive that he did it against his former club (who I'm sure knows his pitches very well).
Lehigh Valley is the Phillies Triple-A team.

After loading the bases with 1 out and a 1-run lead Schroder struck out two in a row for the save.

He's got a 0.79 ERA and 20 Ks in only 11.1 innings (16.2 K/9).

Elijah Dukes struck out twice in two at-bats today as Columbus beat Lehigh Valley 8-1. Jason Bergmann had two hits, Ray Olmedo had two RBIs, and Ryan Langerhans, Pete Orr and Garrett Guzman (pinch-hitting) each doubled.

i'll assume that if dukes is in the clippers lineup tomorrow night that he wont be heading to houston with the nats.

my next hope will then be when they return home vs the marlins.

He was also ejected for arguing balls/strikes after the 2nd K.  as was Tim Foli, the Columbus Manager.

I saw (Wash. Times) where Bergmann hasn't allowed a run in 14 consecutive innings.

Why won't they call him up to replace Chico?  It's like suicide continuing to throw him out there every 5 days.

He better do good, I think at the pace our prospects are at our top prospects next year will be

1. Jordan Zimmerman
2. Chris Marrero
3. Ross Detwiler

Hey Natsman, does your "ZIMMERMAN FOR PRESIDENT" refer to Jordan or Ryan?

I ask because you have been spelling Jordan's last name the same as Ryan's, even though Jordan has two "n's" on the end, so I wasn't sure who you meant.

Really? Because he was scheduled to pitch for Potomac tonight before he was promoted to double-A.

Great start for VanAllen. 4 scoreless innings thus far and he tripled in his first AB.

Final line for VanAllen: 5.2 IP 4 H 1 R 1 ER 1 BB 3 SO

He's in line for the win, too. Not bad for his first start in AA ball.

VanAllen picks up the win as Harrisburg wins 5-2.

Zech picked up the Save in his first AA outing of the year.

Beltran Perez (Remember him?) is doing a fine job in relief for Harrisburg this season. He's got 5 holds, 1 win, 1 save and a 2.79 ERA.

I remember him. He gave us some excellent starts a few years ago and then disappeared; 'twas a pity.
