All singles. He was putting the pitches where he wanted to. It was just an odd inning for us.

Well, when you throw beachballs, or BB's as Tom likes to call them, it doesn't really matter where you place them.

Its hard for me to get worked up about the Nats losing one with the Caps game looming tonight. Did you go on tuesday? If you did, you know what it is like. If not, I'm not joking, it will be ******* awesome. Unless the Caps score no goals

havent been to a game all year! finally get to go see a game and its a big one! I can't wait..winning this game and tonight would make this an awesome day.  Hell even if nats lose today we can still stick it to Philly be knocking the flyers out of the playoffs.   that would be fun.

Honestly, he pitched pretty damn well up to that point. He didn't get hit hard except for the homer early on.

If you throw beachballs you are more likely to give up doubles or HRs no matter where you place them.  So if he was indeed throwing beach balls, then we are lucky they only got singles.

Why is NJ getting an off day already? They don't even want him to pinch hit??!

He had a five run lead that he let dissolve with 7 hits and 5 ER. It doesn't matter how he throws it or when he did it. He did it.  He could pitch six hitless innings and then give up 5 runs in the 7th and the same result occurs: he blew it.

That is 100% true, but those were good pitches the Phillies hit; NOT beachballs.
