They are among 42 players announced today to represent the US team in the World Baseball Classic.  Way to go guys, make us proud!

I saw that.  They kept referring to "provisional" rosters.  Any idea what that means?   It looks like they had more than 40 guys that have agreed to play & that at some point they have to pare it down to 30.

Yes, they can only enter each round of the tournament with 30 players, but can replace players in between rounds with anybody who is on the larger 60 man roster.

Per manager Buck Martinez, the US is looking to add a few more, say 6-7 to the existing 42, which would put them near 50.  He didn't see the need to go all the way to 60.

A-Rod is on the Dominican roster, but will probably not play for anybody.  I think Luis Ayala is on the Mexico roster, Loaiza too.
