just postpone the draft until you get the 10th person.

My understanding is that ESPN assumes the members will find a 10th person (sending emails and posting on a Forum like this one), and then run the Live Draft immediately.  ESPN will check every 5 minutes to see if the league has 10 managers.  The only way to stop it, as far as I can see, is if a different date and time is voted upon by 6 members, under the Referenda heading at http://games.espn.go.com/flb/referenda?leagueId=135043 for this WNFF league.  We need to hold the draft before 11:59 pm Saturday to be able to count the Nationals Opener and the rest of the Mon-Sun games.  If we don't get a 10th manager, the league will never be run, so the time for a draft won't matter.

Send a PM to as many people as you can. There are enough people on here to start a 10-person league. Geez. Maybe post in general discussion.

Well I'd suggest is either coordinating the time of the last person signing up to be when the draft should occur or lets get started on voting for the new date. To be honest though, I'd expect to miss the live draft anyway unless its a Sunday afternoon.

Are there any people on here now that aren't in the league?

PANatsFan, BaldyNat, and natsfan1a according to who's online. I haven't PM'd them, figured nats2playoffs would need to hook em up if they said yes.

I've sent a number of PM's.  Someone PM'd me that he wanted to joined, but never signed up.  I PM'd him, saw him on-line, and he never responded.  I PM'd someone else who was active in the league last year, but rarely posts here.  He was on-line minutes ago but has never responded.

BTW, last year's H2H WINNER only has about 2 posts on here.  A LOT of people READ this Forum, but prefer not to post.  And LOTS of active Forum posters who were in the 2007 Head-to-Head and Rotisserie leagues had a lot of players on the DL or in the minors last year.  So it really was NOT super-competitive, regardless of how much people post in WNFF.

There are only 4 people signed up who are logged in now.  I can set up an alternate draft time, to prevent the draft from being held in the middle of the night, (if the 10th signs up then.)  Any ideas?  Tomorrow on Saturday at 2pm or 4 pm or 7pm or 8pm or when?  Otherwise, any one a LOT of people who already got invites could decide to accept it at 2 am, and trigger the Live Draft, causing everyone ELSE to autodraft.

What time?  It needs to before midnight Saturday to get included next week.

I'd say give it another hour (if that's cool with everyone else who's already in) and then change it to tomorrow night.

I PM'd Metsucks and Spidernat just now (and Spidernat has been sent unsolicited invites, since he was in the Rotisserie league last year.  I don't think he liked it much.)   Until Air Zimmerman signed off, we actually had SIX members of the league on-line here, enough to set a new draft time.  The Referenda is just a vote place, to change things (which can even include the name of the league.)  We can set up a new time, and be prepared to cast 6 votes (or autodraft).  We can always hold off casting the votes for awhile. Sat afternoon or evening?  Any time is okay with me.

If a WNFF member is not logged in, they are counted as a Guest.  So a Guest could very well be a regular member or just someone who can provide an email address, accept the invite, and get us going!  HEY GUEST....  GUEST?

He and Spidernat both logged out as soon as they got the PM.

So I PM'd MrMadison, Soxfan59 and natsfan1a.  I apologized for begging, and blamed all of you for making me PM them.  I was prepared weeks ago to just skip fantasy baseball in 2008, but we have NINE players...  I only moved 2 players in the ranking - just no time.

Check your email, n2p. Soxfan wants to join up but needs to know what to do. (I'm glad that he does because I would be a very lame Fantasy Baseball participant. :))

I JUST sent Soxfan59 the ESPN invite.  We all must draft a White Sox player, since he's now our hero!  From what I read, the Draft will start 5 minutes after he accepts, although the League home page says there is NO draft day and time now.  If NOT, do you want to set if for 10:30 PM TONIGHT, to just get it done?  I can make the League email all 10 members, if we have to set a new time.

Sportsline just cancels the league completely.

UPDATED and NOW we are 10!:
1) nats2playoffs (last year's WNFF Rotisserie winner)
2) ronnynat - Centreville ronnynats
3) racab (last year's WNFF Head-2-Head winner) - Miami RACAB'S BOMBERS
4) UMDNats (the Artist Formerly Known as Nats19) - Potomac Cannons
5) DPMOmaha - Neb Nats
6) Air Zimmerman - Buffalo NY Bazooka Joe
7) Eckseid - Richmond WNFF
8 ) Sportsfan882 - Northern VA Sportsfan882
9) thom202 - D.C. Loxoscelidaes
10) Soxfan59 - Helena Handbasket

Ronnynat has done an ESPN draft before.  I have a feeling it's not kicking off automatically; they probably got a LOT of complaints of unwanted autodrafts.   The random draft order is normally set one hour before the draft time.  That way the person picking 1st knows he can take Alex Rodriguez, etc.  So maybe we need to have one hour lead time.  Is 11:30 pm tonight too late or is there a good time for a Live Draft Saturday?  I'm still trying to figure out a way to do it besides the Referenda method, where 6 votes are needed.

I'll be around for a bit tonight. Now, I've never done a draft before, only second time for a fantasy league for me (football was first and I didn't make the draft so it autopicked for me), but I'll be around. If I'm not, I'll just let it pick for me.

The Referenda method isn't going to let us draft until Sunday, at the earliest. I say let's get it done tonight, if possible. Not sure what everyone else thinks, though.
