Nicely done Eckseid. Barring a fluke performance, looks like we split this weeks series 5-5.

Interesting how we both had 7-3 leads during the series.

We face off against each other this week, DPMOmaha

I got straight up smoked this week.  Ouch.  Bad week for me.

A-Rod finally earned a bit of his #1 status, but he's injured now.  Both of our pitching staffs were not terribly exciting.  For me, Tim Hudson - whom the Nationals face tonight - got shelled in 3 innings last week.  David Ortiz finally started hitting and my Marlins got to play Washington. Uggla had been doing NOTHING until then, and I picked up Jacobs, since he likes Nats "pitching."

I assume that Texas at Boston is a makeup date for rain, but an 11:00 AM ET start?  (Texas has to play in Detroit tomorrow.)  I assume that waiver moves today will not be effective until tomorrow, since a game has started already.

It's Patriot's Day. The Red Sox have played a home game every year for the past 50 years. They run the Boston Marathon at the same time.

Ronnynat: Getting killed myself. I've risen to 3-5-2 thanks to my pitchers and a little luck.

I forgot to update my roster this morning and the only people hitting are riding the bench or tucked away on the DL. Curtis Granderson came off the DL today and is currently 2/0/2/0 .667 and I picked up Ian Kinsler of waivers who is 3/0/2/0 .500. The rest of team has a wonderful line of 1 /1/1/0 .143 so far today.  :-[

Oh well. Tomorrow is another day and maybe they'll rally late.

If the game hasn't started yet, you can MOVE a bench player to replace an active player who isn't locked yet.  You can't use someone from waivers once the first game started, but all other moves are still available.

I noticed that you're not forced to move guys out of the DL slot when they come back.  I wanted to see if Gallardo would pitch 6 innings okay, since he got shelled in his last AAA start.  A-Rod's wifey had the baby and I need his HR's...

I appreciate you posting tips here n2p. By the time I got to it, both were already playing and locked.

I'm thinking I should have dropped a compatible roster spot, added a DL eligable player, than activated to hang onto another player but next time I'll try it that way. Anybody try this?

Looks like the lucky clover helped. Up to 2/1/2/2 .222 for the day.

Actually, I think it's me who's giving you the business right now.  I had a couple of good days early, just making up for the dreadful week I had last week.  sorry you were sorta in the way.

Yeah, it is definitely you. I caught up a little yesterday, but Monday and Tuesday were killers. Your team went nuts.

Well, so far today my hitters are 0-18 and my avg is still .316.  That's how fast I started the Monday and Tuesday.

And Francisco Liriano can't get out of the first.  ugh.

Does anyone here play any of the MLB games?

Beat the Streak or HR Beat the Streak.  I do but I'm not very good at it.

I did Beat the Streak last season. It's really tough. Cool prizes, though. I think I picked Ichiro about 90% of the time.

I try to take turns with at least one person from every team.  Teams are alphabetical by city.  Sometimes it works.  Sometimes it doesn't

Try to stick w/ leadoff hitters, as they have the most ABs and are known for getting on base more.

Oh OK.  I'll have to research a little more then.  I don't know too much about who leads off for other teams.  I look at AB and averages and try to guess from there.

soxfan, I was a little surprised you never picked up Quentin. I waited a few days just in case you decided to get him before picking him up myself.

And he dropped Andrew Jones to get him (who some people wanted the Nationals to acquire for big bucks.)  Jones isn't producing in LA, and there are a lot of players better than him for fantasy purposes.  Also, I dropped White Soxian pitcher, Mark Buehrle, onto waivers last week or so, since I had trouble spelling and pronouncing his name... and because he got shelled too many times.

Last year's H2H champion, racab, beat me last week.  ESPN doesn't use winner-take-all for H2H; and I scored some wins in the 10 categories to keep it close.  ronnynat, you grabbed that closer I wanted last week.  He and I face off this week.

It helps when ESPN lets you know right on the league's homepage when players get new roles. I snagged him (Fuentes) right when I saw his picture on there. :D

Now I'm getting whooped by racab's team (who is racab?). I guess making 1000 transactions a week isn't the best strategy. :?

I'm making transactions almost daily, mainly pitchers and it's worked really well so far for me.

I've made some really bad pitching transactions recently. Maybe once Rollins gets back things will get better for my team.
