Rockies sign Tulowitzki to long-term deal

The Denver Post reports that the Rockies and Troy Tulowitzki have agreed to a six-year, $30 million contract with a club option for 2014.
The option would buy out his second year of free agency. It'd be the largest deal ever for a player with less than two years of service time, eclipsing the one Grady Sizemore signed two years ago.

Over the long haul, this is likely to turn out to be a steal. I wonder if this sets a good bar for the Nats to ink Zimmerman for a longer-term deal.

I think it puts pressure on the Nats to offer something comparable.
