Now will you concede the game?  :-[

What an embarrassing lackluster performance.  What happened to the Caps who dominated their first 2 games of the season?  :|

whew, nevermind they washed it out.

3-1 into the third isn't insurmountable, but it's not looking good.

The Rangers seemed to have dominated the first because of the penalties, but the Caps weren't penalized that much in the second and the Rangers STILL outshot them 17-7.  This is pitiful.

Do the Rangers just seem faster to anyone else?

Yes, they are owning us.  They are getting to every loose puck and are completing every pass.  We played the same way in our first two games against Atlanta and Carolina.  The last 2 games we have been completely dominated although we won on Monday somehow.  This team has got to figure out a way to score goals.  It seems like they get a bunch of chances but always come up just short.

Their offense looks completely incompetent tonight.  Their puck control sucks.

This team is showing no sense of urgency in the 3rd period.  Don't they know they are losing by 2 goals??  Nothing has changed in their play.

Game over. This team can't buy a freaking goal.  Kudos to Kolzig for kicking ass tonight though.

btw, the people on the Caps message boards are a bunch of toolbags.  All they do is whine and complain about the officiating.  It is also sacrilegious to criticize anyone on the team except for Pothier.

Nylander seemed a little off tonight. Plus, the Rangers just looked sharper overall. Ovechkin was a beast as usual. Loss, 1-3. Oh well, can't expect to go undefeated :).

Everyone was off.  It was like they weren't cognizant of the fact that you have to have an open passing lane in order to complete a pass.

Their offense is pretty inept thus far.  8 goals in 4 games isn't enough to go anywhere in the playoffs.  The fact that Semin has done a disappearing act isn't helping one bit.

Can someone tell me why, in fantasy hockey, you get positive points for penalty minutes? I can't figure it out.

about time Buffalo scored.. The Caps have been completely dominated once again

edit: make that 4-1.  Could be 7 or 8 to 1 considering how crappy they have played.

Yep on MASN2 (CSN Plus).  Ch.25 on my TV. I don't think you want to watch it though.  I am so disappointed.  After the first two games I thought that this team was going to be really good.  Since then they have been absolutely dominated in 3 straight games.  They look just as bad if not worse than they did last year.  I know it's still early but these guys look awful.

Thanks. It's a young team mixed w/ some new vets. Just need to mold a bit more. Kolzig's looked GREAT so far!

Brent Johnson is playing goalie tonight and he started great tonight but he has fallen apart since then.  I don't blame him for the loss though.  The team as a whole played like ****.

i dont know if it is a good or bad thing that Motzko was probably our 2nd best player tonight. it seems like erskine has been taking some bad penalties and making bad plays the past two games. wonder if we'll see a change there to at least shake things up.  i've been slow to bash pothier, but an inordinate number of pucks do "jump" over his stick particularly when trying to keep the puck in. maybe he does suck.

perhaps we are missing gordon a lot.  maybe the guy is just that good at shutting down the opposition. semin, please come back too

Capitals are home to the Islanders tonight at the Phone Booth, face-off at 19.00 - schedule magnets for the first 15,000 through the turnstiles - I'm sure plenty of tickets remain available!

unbelievable.. The Caps dominate the entire first period yet trail 1-0.  They get plenty of chances but can never convert.

3 Losses in a row.  Kolzig was HORRIBLE tonight but he wasn't alone because the rest of the team sucked too.  This team is in the gutters.  >:(

The caps played well tonight. Olie just let them down, which is the exception. If they play like this frequently, they'll win most games.  The Caps played better at even strength than they did on the PP.  Motzko played well enough again tonight.  He could use a little better decision making on the PP, but his puckhandling abilities are there.  I think he (maybe green) made a really long pass out of the zone right on to Ovechkins stick to send him on a semi break.

Lets get Semin and Gordon back, then reevealuate

Was it just me, or were the Caps losing the puck behind their own net A LOT?
