What a bunch of idiots.. "How about that matchup tomorrow.. Glavine VS Dontrelle".. While Bergmann gets no mention even though he has been 10 times better than Dontrelle this year.  Jason is going to own Philly tomorrow.

Glavine vs Dontrelle sells better. It's much more enticing to anyone not living in Philly or DC..or a fan of either.

D-Train is gonna pitch a gem tomorrow, i guarantee it. He's a big game pitcher, and he'll be salivating at the chance to knock the Mutts out. It's also his last start as a Marlin, so he'll want to go out with a bang. I really hope we pursue him, he's my favorite pitcher in the league and one of the best. He just needs a change of scenery and out of that dead franchise.

You think you'd be reacting like that if we hit a homer on the first pitch? I don't understand people's obsession on here w/ not swinging at the first pitch. The ONLY reason players should think like that is if a pitcher is 1) FANTASTIC or 2) Inaccurate. If they're swinging at strikes, who cares what pitch it is?
A hitter has a much greater chance at getting a hit with the more pitches he sees.  How can you hit the first pitch when you don't even know what's coming?

Matty Chico's pitching himself into the 2008 rotation. 3.11 ERA since he got called back. 19-9 K/BB ratio.

Dontrelle is embarrassingly awful.. Bergmann is much better.

You see, if you don't swing at the first pitch, you might get a better pitch to hit later on.  There is NO guarantee that the first pitch will be the only good or the best pitch you see.

And when a pitcher first comes in, you don't know how he's going to pitch, that day.  He might not have good stuff and if you're out on one pitch, you won't know that.

Ryan has been so patient over the last month or so.  He has been very good at drawing walks.  Uh oh, Dmitri is up.

Not at this point in the season. The hitters should know ALL of the opposing pitchers. Pitch #1 is a strike pitch attempt. Not a bad idea to look strike, and clobber it. If you fail, you fail.

Willis was horrible in the first half but has come on strong lately.  I thought tommorrow would be the only game the Marlins would win in NY.  Fox knows that all Mets fans are watching this game now.  (NYC = largest city in the USA.)  It's okay; they're rooting for us now.
Z walks again.

BE A HERO DMITRI!!!!  WE NEED A BIG HIT...
YA KNOW WHAT A BIG HIT IS, DMITRI?

As I posted before, the first pitch you see might not be the best or only good pitch you see and they will HAVE to throw you another one!

And you should want to see if the pitcher has good stuff on that day, especially if he's a bad pitcher.  If he's a bad pitcher, you have to give him a chance to be bad!

Why in the hell does Kearns keep swinging at the first pitch too??  He should have been much more patient there with a LHP in the game.
