That thing has been around since the 70s. I think it's not really supposed to be anything. Think Muppets.

Is that Phillies mascot supposed to be an eagle, like ours?  The Phillies fans must have beaten the crap out of him a few times.

what did Utley do? Stare down Munoz?
As he always does he leaned into a pitch and let it hit him without making any attempt to get out of the way.  I thought we had taught him a lesson about that when we broke his wrist earlier in the season but obviously not.  Guess he'll have to get plunked in the head before he finally learns.

From Wikipedia...
A furry green creature with a cylindrical beak containing a tongue that sticks out, he was created by Harrison/Erickson of New York City (now known as Acme Mascots), who have had ties with Jim Henson's Muppets and the team's marketing and promotions department during the winter after the 1977 season by a young executive named Dennis Lehman, who thought that the team needed a mascot similar to The San Diego Chicken. The character is named for the fanatical fans of the team after an incident during the third game of the 1977 National League Championship Series played at Philadelphia's Veterans Stadium, in which fans drove Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Burt Hooton into losing his composure (he was removed from the game, but the Dodgers went on to win the game, and ultimately, the series).
That thing has been around since the 70s. I think it's not really supposed to be anything. Think Muppets.

Hard to believe they aren't pinch hitting and ending this.

What pisses me off again is that no one will be called out for this performance.

...AND again, I go back to non-competitive losses.  We've had far too many of them.  Losing is unavoidable.  Being embarrassed isn't!

Wow, no team would have a chance vs us in a BCB.

now we have to face Hamels for another inning or portion thereof.  This is torture.

It'd be cool if we beat them 7-6 because they left Hamels in too long...

Schroder got 3 strikeouts, 4 if ya count the passed ball.  Lucy and that little dog would be proud of him.  Those piano lessons paid off, finally.

Hamels is at 103 pitchers.  Got him RIGHT where we want him.

Nice. I guess Manny is strictly using Ross in blowout games. I think thats a good idea.
