Nice rendition of God Bless America, although it seems like they picked out the most random singers :D

I usually only categorize losses but if I were to do the same to series, this might be one of the worst series of the season.

We had pitching matchups that favor us in the first two games and we lost one and are losing the other.  The next two games don't favor us, certainly not nearly as much.

And their barely MLB-caliber bullpen has shut us down.

A game and 6 1/2 innings into this series, this is a REALLY bad one!

Hill actually has been quite consistent.
#s before All Star Break: 50 IP 37 H 18 R 15 ER 2 HR 16 BB 33 SO (3-3, 2.70 ERA)
#s after All Star Break: 47.1 IP 49 H 24 R 22 ER 7 HR 9 BB 32 SO (1-1, 4.18 ERA)

3.42 total era  was 3.01 before tonight's game

Jason Bergmann's Numbers:
#s before All Star Break: 62.1 IP 46 H 26 R 24 ER 5 HR 23 BB 49 SO (1-5, 3.47 ERA)
#s after All Star Break: 44.1 IP 43 H 27 R 27 ER 12 HR 15 BB 32 SO (4-0, 5.48 ERA)

4.30 total era was 4.38 before last night's game.

don't get upset with me.  I just did that so I could see the numbers all together.

ok, when you look just at the numbers you all are right, Hill has performed better this season.   Just wish he could hold it together better on the mound these past few outtings.

I wish I'd have been able to save it.  Because I really worded it very well.  I just can't remember the exact way I put it.  But I didn't say, "You said Berg was better, didn't you?"  I'm not that dumb.  But it was more along the lines of working out of a jam and keeping it together.

Bob's got  nothing to lose.  He can about say whatever he wants.  :icon_mrgreen:

We don't have one run in this series against one of the worst bullpens in baseball.  NOT ONE RUN!

The Phillies may only be outhit by the Yankees and maybe Red Sox.  But poor umpiring doesn't help, but poor control with well-known sluggers is even worse.

That's not exactly all that the discussion entails but that last point is good.  I kind of hope you're right because that would be nice for the team but I know Bergmann is at best a 3 and more likely a 4. Hill is a 2 in the rotation.

9 IP 3 H 0 R 0 ER 4 BB 9 K for the Phillies bullpen during these 2 games.

That's like getting complete game shut out by a starter with a 5.00+ ERA.

Our first inning failure is costing us now as is that 2-run blast by Burrell.

I know it's more than that in the discussion.  But that's the one part I can remember very clearly asking.
