I should modify that Question, one MEMORABLE play that was not negative.

Aug 12: Felipe Lopez drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly as the Nationals rallied to beat the Diamondbacks 7-6 on Sunday afternoon.

Aug 8: Felipe Lopez hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning of Thursday's game against the Giants off of Pat Misch to give Washington the 3-1 lead that would hold up. Lopez also had a single in the game. Lopez finished the four-game set against the Giants, 7-for-14 (.500) with two homers, two stolen bases and four RBI.

Aug 7:  Felipe Lopez, dealing with tendinitis in his right knee, hit a tiebreaking double in the eighth inning Tuesday for the Nationals, who won the game 8-6. Lopez also homered, had three hits and was just a triple away from the cycle.

********************************
Sportsline: SS Felipe Lopez had a 45-minute meeting with manager Manny Acta on Saturday to discuss his frustrating season. Lopez, who hit .291 in 2005 and .274 in 2006, has seen his average fall to .240 in 2007. He hasn't driven in a run since Aug. 12 and has committed four errors in his last seven games.... Acta wanted to give Lopez some words of encouragement while also making sure the aloof shortstop doesn't give up on the season with two weeks left to play. "He's just frustrated because he feels that he has done everything in his power, and he's not the player that people are seeing right now," Acta said. "I just told him he can't give up. He's got to give his best effort, and things will work out."

That was a back-breaking, non-swing.

why is Ryan taking a fastball right down the middle for strike 3?? Uncalled for

btw, the Phillies bullpen ranks 23rd in MLB with a 4.49 ERA.  The Nationals bullpen is 10th with a 3.77 ERA.  From watching these two games you'd think that those numbers would be opposite.

I doubt they would answer that question on the air. They would find a way to be politically correct about it.

You guys think they were trying to hit Peña because they think we hit Utley on purpose?

Nook at Center when we're trailing?

I think I'll switch over to Brewers/Bravos.  Way to piss away the game.

Game-winning triple against the Orioles at Camden Yards.

Name one memorable Nookie play beyond the single to win it against the Orioles.  Name one good reason why he should be on a big-league team.

I'll be waiting.

Then what's the problem. We have nothing to lose. Let's throw at them and get it on.

Wily Mo was acquired from the Red Sox for the specific purpose of being available to be hit by a pitch from a Phillies pitcher, for the anticipated retaliation.  They didn't tell him though.  (Sorry.)
