If you "do the math", the #3 hitter is coming up and the fastest player on the team is already in scoring position. The worst thing that would happen would be an out with Nook still in scoring position.
I'd take the chance at swinging in this case. SHOCKINGLY!!! 
Now what if that had happened with Lopez swinging?
