2 for 4 w/ a baserunning mistake isn't THAT bad. Better than not hitting at all, right?

Since he wiped himself out before the next batter could even step in the box, it was effectively 1 for 4.

A Strikeout in that last AB would have served us better than a DP.  And Felipe might as well have gotten out the first time if he was going to be stupid and get thrown out at 3rd.

Hitting into DPs is just gonna happen. Jimenez could have (probably would have) done it, too.

Exactly.

But he hit the ball. That's my point. We're down 1 damn it. Not bad shape at all. Losses are NEVER one player's fault.

Anyone remember hearing about how Lopez blamed his struggles during the first half of the season on some "personal issues".  He said that those issues are resolved but right now he is looking just like he looked for much of the season.  just not getting it done at the plate
When Guzman went down in June I suggested we trade for Wilson Betimen which we could have gotten for a secondary relief pitcher like the Yankees did.  It would have given us some options and maybe kept Lopez at 2nd or at least some competition instead of this loser Jimemez coming off the bench.
The bottom line is that if Lopez had a season like he was supposed too (,270-.280/OBP.340-370) we would have won another 4-7 games easy.

Because this umpire is calling strikes on all of those breaking balls, regardless of where they are.
