I don't know about that. Dmitri would've beaten him out regardless of whether Lee had retired or not. In fact, he may have retired because he recognized he could not outplay Young. I do remember posters actually hoping Lee would win the job over Young instead of hoping the best player would come out of ST entrenched at 1B.

it wouldnt suprise me if we signed d-tank.

cause unlike last year when we all like fonzi! bowden held on and didnt send him packing. we didnt get any good offers.

but since d-tank would be much cheaper than sori, i could see it happening.

only reason, i think d-tank has priceless value for this team. he brings alot on and mostly off the field. i think he is a role model for the guys. if that makes any sense? im kinda tired...lol

Hey, we are really fooling ourselves if we don't think he is.

Besides, he does some remarkable things with all that cushion. Saturday's game against the Bucs, bottom of the eighth, a Buc hits a laser down the 1st base line. The crowd starting going nuts thinking hit but suddenly, almost in slow motion, this mass went airborne and snowconed the ball for the final out of the inning.

Everyone was in shock.
