Alex Rodriguez with daughter Natasha and wife Cynthia heading to the Westin Hotel after grabbing coffee at Starbucks yesterday in Chicago.
An unidentified friend (left) joined Rodriguez and family for lunch at Hugo's Frog Bar.
Alex Rodriguez took a couple of girls out on the town yesterday - his wife and 2-year-old daughter.
The scandal-plagued Yankees slugger was the picture of a family man when he spent the day strolling with his wife, Cynthia, and their daughter, Natasha, through the Windy City's fashionable Gold Coast shopping district.
The outing seemed to go smoothly until the end of the three-hour walkabout, when A-Rod got nasty with photographers who had tracked his every move."You had enough?" Rodriguez snapped outside the team's hotel. "I'm out with my family. Now get the f--- out of my way."
A few minutes later, Rodriguez jumped into a taxi with Yankees closer Mariano Rivera and headed for the ballpark for last night's game with the White Sox.
Rodriguez's wife has been traveling with him on the Yankees' road trip, which included a stop in Boston and will end with tonight's game in Chicago.
The smiling couple have tried to put to rest stories that their marriage is on the rocks over A-Rod's relationship with a blond stripper.
The babe, Joslyn Morse, has been seen by his side at strip clubs in cities coast to coast.
The married pair seemed to be alone in Boston. Yesterday's day out marked the first time Natasha has been seen in public since the scandal broke last week.
Cynthia Rodriguez was waiting with Natasha in a stroller in the lobby of the Westin Hotel, where the team is staying, when her husband joined them around 11:45 a.m.
They were accompanied by Patricia Blee, 33, Cynthia Rodriguez's best friend from their college days at Ohio State University, and her little son, Charlie.
"He's got beautiful, big, blue eyes," said Toni Johnson, the boy's proud grandmother.
The group walked up Rush St. to a luxury car dealership, where A-Rod checked out several new Bentley and Lamborghini models. A manager at the dealership said the baseball star is a frequent browser when he's in Chicago and didn't plan to buy anything.
They moved on to Barney's New York, where Alex Rodriguez went inside and bought a $110 black T-shirt emblazoned with an image of rapper Biggie (Notorious B.I.G.) Smalls and a $78 light-blue Juicy Couture T-shirt.
He came out wearing the light blue shirt, and they continued on to Hugo's Frog Bar restaurant.
The entire group ate at an outdoor cafe on the pleasant spring day. After eating, they walked to a nearby Starbucks and emerged holding coffee cups.
It was only when they walked down the block to the hotel that A-Rod lost his cool a bit.
