Baltimore, KC and Miami are really bad.  Number 4 draft slot in 2020 would be a good goal.  Unless they start trading assets early.  Then shoot for the bottom.

We could be in the cellar as early as Saturday night...
if there's wine there, a cellar's not the worst place to be.  Unless there's a cask of amontillado there.

Good news. He has been in a slump.

Kingery will play CF until Roman Quinn is back. And then again once Quinn for back on the DL.

EDIT: when I said good news I was just kidding. Police report says she had major bruises so I will just assume David (yep that’s his first name) is a POS and should not be playing for any MLB team.

Also they may recall Nick Williams and put him in LF and put McCutcheon in CF at least short term. Adam Haseley is another option.

I go to Atlantic City often (in fact, I was there last night) and the Golden Nugget is the craptiest casino. It’s all slot players with an average age older than mitlen and VaRK combined. I get offers all the time for a bus ride and two-night stay for under $100 just because I walked in one time to check it out. Someone on an MLB salary should be staying somewhere a bit nicer.

I was in a river boat casino in Peoria IL once, add "so much smoke you couldn't see the slot machine in front of you' to your description of AC and you have Peoria.

If we are going to try to salvage this season, after today, the next 16 games for Philly could give us a chance to make a move:

4 @ Cubs
3 @ Brewers
3 vs Cardinals
3 @ Dodgers
3 @ Padres

Meanwhile, our schedule eases up from the what we have faced so far this month.  (Of course, I still think Atlanta is the best team in the division so they may have a nice lead in 2 weeks.)

Since this optimistic post......

Mets 7-3
Phillies 6-4
Braves 5-4
Nats 5-5

We still have a favorable schedule in the short term, but the Phillies have done a nice job getting through this stretch of their schedule.

This just in. He’s streaky if you like him and inconsistent if you don’t.

3 more games left for Philly in this tough stretch of schedule.  Since this post we have gained exactly 1 game on them.

Mets 8-6
Braves 7-5
Nats 7-6
Phillies 6-7

Well, since this post, we've gained 3 games on them....   The goal should be to get it to .500 and then take a look where we are in the standings.  The Mets series was definitely a big set back.  The last 3 series were about digging back out of that hole.

Was watching this game. It looked bad. Smart play by Kinsler. The main thing is I don't think the Phillies are going to be there at the end. Bruce wasnt what they needed. Their outfield defense is now atrocious.

Bruce plays an adequate OF defense.

If he plays CF for the rest of the season, and keeps hitting .214 and stops hitting for power, and the Phillies pitching falls off a cliff, we have a chance.

The Nats have played as bad as I can possibly imagine them playing and they are down 6 games in the loss column. The NL East is bad. The Phillies are on top with a run differential of only +15 runs. 6 games can be made up in 4 months.

Segura really really screwed up on that play.
