NL East (2019)
« Topic Start: April 03, 2019, 04:24:07 PM »
Phillies look unstoppable right now. For years, the Nats have had an offense that - on paper - looked like one of the best ever but has never actually materialized. The Phillies, at least for now, are getting to experience that unbeatable offense. It's early but they're a force to be reckoned with.

It was nice to batter Nola today.  Teams are going to have to outscore the Phillies this year.

Isn't that what you generally have to do to win a game? :P

de Grom is the real deal. Thank goodness we're missing him this next series. Plus the Mets played a night game in Miami last night and probably didn't get home until early this morning while the Nats should be well-rested. I'm sure FP has excuses ready though.

The Mets have the pitching and the Phillies have the batting, Nats have the boneheaded baserunning and the coach that makes questionable decisions about 3 times per 9 innings.

There should be an advanced stat for that.  QDA (Questionable Decisions Average).  How many per 9 innings. I'll stand by my previous post and say Martinez leads the NL right now with a 3.00 QDA.

Scherzer
Stras
Corbin

Those 3 guys should single handedly keep the Nats in contention. Stras was lights out today.

Are you actually a Nats fan? You seem to actually wish for the worst case scenario for the team. Maybe “Slateman” is a closet Phillies or Mets fan.

He's crazy enough to think he can reverse-jinx the team.  It's not just with the Nats.  He's been posting all season in the Caps thread about how they're going to have a disappointing season, go one-and-done in the playoffs, etc.

Slate has been one to "accent the negative" since becoming a WNFF member.  I can only imagine what it's like to share an office or work on a project with him.  He would be one to never try anything new, for fear of bureaucratic retaliation.

Slate is like that annoying little brother that you know is just going to say stuff to be a pest.  It's best just to roll your eyes and move on, because if you smack him he is just going to run and tell mom.

I do not agree at all. I think he is educated and brings up valid points 88.7% of the time (UMich did the stats analytics for me).

You actually follow this team? Because you seem to not know anything about it.

Did the Caps not win the Stanley Cup last season? They did.

Did the Nationals not flounder last season after I anticipated the playoffs? They did.

I AM THE SUMMONER

You are such a moron, it's not even funny.

"Accent the negative" is now spin for being realistic?  Strasburg is always hurt and Corbin has finished half his seasons with an ERA over 4.

GTFO with your nonsense. Your people are the reason that there is bureaucratic retaliation in the first place.

to the best of my knowledge, if you go to CCR, and ask if JCA is on the schedule, you will get a strange look.
