Point is, he cannot slide to first this year (and DH will never be an option) because the team is unwilling, politically, to bench Zimmerman. There is nowhere in the outfield for him. You cannot trade any of Robles, Soto, or Eaton, because you won't get nearly their value in trade. You cannot sit any of the three either. Harper is a man without a position as far as the Nats are concerned. If the team had been willing to bench Zimmerman, I think Harper would still be a Nat.
I love this team. That’s heart right there. No quit in this team.
4-4. 2games out.
A Doolittle injury away from a pen that cant keep a 10 run lead
I have no idea how to feel about 4-4. It feels like we are 2-12. I felt fortunate to be 2-3, and then I thought we let one get away yesterday. Meanwhile, today has me totally conflicted, because even the we were up 12-1 in the 7th, this feels like a loss.
I need some sort of intervention. I just can’t with this team anymore. It’s game four and I found myself unable to watch or listen due to PTSD this team has caused me. Of course I followed it on my phone. Like am addict I needed a little hit. I got excited when they had a lead, the furious. The baserunning, the pitching, the injuries already. What did I do to deserve this fate? How do you guys cope? Why do you keep coming back for more?!
Blow up the pen - yes. Blow up the team - no, not with a soon to be 35-year old Max and a soon to be 31-year old Stras who's arm might be on borrowed time.
The dumbass move was not trading Harper to the Astros or Dodgers. It should have been pretty obvious he wasn’t coming back. Bad asset management will kill a franchise.
