as one writer put it, Sandy Leon at $2MM got waived in spring training, and no one claimed him. Swihart at $500K gets waived, and there will be about 14 claims.  My guess is he's traded.

It won't change much, but Swihart actually makes close to a million.  He was somehow a Super Two.  It'll be interesting to see who claims him.  An NL team would make more sense to use him as a utility knife, but the AL gets priority.   Oakland might be one possibility: they love defensive versatility, love switch-hitters, have a pile of dung behind the plate, are cheap, and love reclamation projects.  But they're fairly late in the waiver chain.

Most likely. Remember when the Sox refused to make him the centerpiece of a deal for Cole Hamels in 2015?  Of course Hamels has generally been poor since then also.

The Phillies need him but don’t thing he will last that long. Andrew Knapp is really bad.

he was rostered for half a year his first call-up in 2015, when he did well, and was rostered all last year, because he  was out of options.  As for 16, they used him as a utility guy  until he was hurt.

I know, but it's still a bit jarring to see a guy get Super 2 eligible while becoming a complete steaming pile.

Joe Worst Waste West ejected four people in the White Sox-Royals games last night, setting a new personal record (he's tossed three several times). He's been an umpire since 1825 1976 and done over 5,000 games.

LAA reminding me of a familiar team.  Up 5-0 after 5.  Give up 2 in the 6th.  Garcia comes in to pitch the 7th.  23 pitches, no outs, 3 walks & a single.  Buttrey comes in and immediately gives up a deep sac fly, everyone tags.  5-4 game.  Now 5-5.  Trout makes an over the shoulder boulder holder catch to prevent another 2 runs.

Now Wade gets called out on 2nd on a hidden ball trick play.

Went to replay, and after breaking it down in slo-mo frame-by-frame, it appeared he may or may not have been tagged when his foot came slightly off above the bag.  Called out.  Scrap replay if this is the sort of bullcrap you end up overturning while still missing obvious blown calls.

so, you can't really call him Vladi Daddie Jr, can you?  The whole Jr and Daddie just doesn't mix.

woo-hoo....one of the rare times that I will be watching my Jays over my Nats, as Vlad debuts, tonight !

watching the pre-game, now, and it's all about Vlad, with all the hype rarely/hopefully feeling worth it...
