Agree to disagree broheim.

My biggest problem with Rendon is the perceived "it's all good, no worries" attitude.

My biggest problem with people who worry about his perceived attitude is they usually dont understand how fantastic he is at this game.

Hes a top 10 position player in baseball. Hes in the top 2 at third base.

To quote you, a lot goes into this.

He gets results. Look at the stats, it is obvious.

I don't think his mentality, or maybe it's his lack of leadership, lends itself to a winning club/culture.

And you want to trade him?

I'm wondering when we will get a clean game from the pen.

If Miller wouldn't have allowed a run Dozier ties it in the 9th.

These early season losses from our pen are going to add up in the end..

Yes,  because Rizzo doesnt have the resources or permission to do what's necessary and go all in this season.

Team has the 4th most wins in baseball since he joined the club.

By the "winning" definition, Mike Trout and Joey Votto are garbage.

To be frank, I've never bought the argument/opinion that you are a troll and actively trying to mess with people here.

But this take makes me wonder. He has not been the face or leader of this team since he came up. We had others for that. At this point, I don't think he is ready for that.

I love you as a poster, dude. But nothing else to say here.

Rendon is just their best every day player. Give it a rest.

If you are going to trash Rendon at least wait until he cools off.

Do you want me to dig up some threads about black/white players and who we root for?

I'll post however I like, within the rules.

You're a joke

Rendon will never be the vocal leader of the clubhouse and that's ok. I don't know why he gets flack for that. He shows up on the field and that's what matters.

Some guys lead different ways. Max is a fiery leader. A vocal leader. Rendon leads by example. But to say their different styles of leading are right or wrong is just silly.

What is this vocal leader nonsense?

Is Mookie Betts a vocal leader? Is Christian Yelich known for being a vocal leader? This is such a dumb conversation now.

Anway, back on point, is anyone surprised by Kyle Barraclough this season?

Just curious .... did you think Harper's mentality/personality/style/leadership/whatever lended itself to a winning club/culture?

I still think we should

A) Trade MAT (saves us $4 Million) perhaps package with Rosenthal ($7 Million)

B) Extend Zimm 3/30 (Saves 8 Million this year)

C) Kimbrel

Zimm would be dumb not to take it imo. And someone will take MAT and Rosenthal for little.

I can't see any team accepting MAT and Rosenthal unless we cover most of their salaries.   Rosenthal is at rock bottom value right now, and Taylor is a career .239 hitter coming off a .227 / .287 / .357 season in 2018, he's barely AAAA quality right now.

A team will always chance a guy throwing 100

And MAT is an above average Defender with above average speed and power. He's also young.

They will find jobs if they hit the market.

I'm not saying we will get anything in return other than salary relief. But that's what we really need anyway

To trade Rosenthal they would have to eat most of his salary.

Correct for Rosenthal. Maybe for Taylor. He doesn’t make as much. We know the Lerners will not eat salary.

We need less years of Zimmerman.

And years after years Rizzo's cheap bullpen and veteran PTO's have not worked. In fact it probably lost us the chance of a World Series.

MAT dWAR:
2018: -0.1
2017: 1.6
2016: -0.2
2015: 0.6

He's at best a league average defensive player and a below league average offensive player (only one year of positive oWAR in his five year career).  I'm not getting the view that other teams would want Taylor for anything above league minimum.  He's basically an outfield Danny Espinosa, and maybe slightly worse on defense.
