So who’s the backup SS?

I think Bob said Rendon.

Uh ... no thanks.

I don't know, I don't see us getting a ton of value from the two of them. But Montgomery will be back from TJ in August, Frazier takes over in CF or RF and Estrada is a good super-utility prospect. Schmidt is back from injury and close to a top 100 prospect. Would give us three immediate major-league pieces for 2020.

Anyways, just spitballing.

First off, I think Yankees prospects are generally overrated.

Second, I expect Doolittle to garner a deal similar to what Kimbrel got when he was traded to Boston. Less team control but greater demand at the deadline.

I think Frazier has a giant hole in his swing that will get exposed when he leaves Yankee Stadium. Hes a poor defender, sticking us with another poor defending LFer.

Montgomery is meh middle relief.

The other two are utility players at best.

But also, why do they want Rendon and Doolittle? They have a stud bullpen and plenty of infielders to play.

I think a better trade partner would be the Rays.

Ross seems to be running out of chances, even on this pitiful staff. And, he once looked so promising.

Joe Ross is hard to figure. Fifth starter in 2016 and into 2017, when he hurts his arm, has TJS. We, many in WNFF, suggest that he needs another pitch or needs to become a relief pitcher. Comes back at the end of 2018 and seems wild, ineffective. OK, first month back from surgery.

Now? Cannot get anyone out? Is Joe one of that percentage of pitchers who cannot recover from TJ?

James Bourque? How many darts can Rizzo throw to try to find a reliever?

Bourque will be the 13th reliever we have used already. What a joke.

Yunz must be pretty stupid north of the border if you think Rizzo is supposed to stay pat with the relievers they came up from Florida with. How many darts you want to know, you freaking moron, as many as it takes to get a competent bullpen. Simple enough for you to understand, moron?

Pretty sure he didn't have TJ surgery. He did have thoracic outlet surgery and hasn't been the same since.

He had TJ.  You can even see the scar on his elbow on TV.

Mat Harvey had thoracic outlet surgery and hasn't been the same. Maybe you have them mixed up?

And I remember Met fans chanting, "Harvey's better than you are" at Stephen Strasburg, who is a fine pitcher, and getting better. Harvey was never as hoo-haw great as all the noise about him. Of course, I remember sports-writers , comparing Harvey to Strasburg when the Muts went to the World Series in 2015. Nats have handle pitchers well, at least until 2018.

Serious questions:       What is the timeline for that?     Do they extend the pitch count?    Change pitch sequence?     Work on a new pitch?

They build his arm strength up and then throw him to the wolves up here.

All of that, I hope. He was a 2-pitch starter before TJ. Needs another pitch.

Usually a month or two, with six weeks being a decent guess; yes; depends, but probably not much in Ross' case; yes, almost definitely (changeup, which he sorta throws but not really).

Hes not going to develop that third pitch at this point. Hes another Jeremy Hellickson at this point
