Yeah I don't understand the blind assumption that he will be bad. High 90s stuff, great K/9 ratio at every level including his stint in AAA this year. Why can't he be good? Walks too many people right now, but that can change.

He has struggled with control/command his whole career.

3.571 WHIP and 24.43 ERA in his short stint for Cincinatti last year.

He will fit right in with our BP.

I understand that, but give the kid a chance is all I am saying. Some pitchers make a minor tweak and the stars align. Seems to happen everywhere else.

According to Zuckerman:

-Activated LHP Tony Sipp from the 10-day IL

-Claimed RHP Javy Guerra on outright waivers from the Blue Jays

- Designated LHP Dan Jennings for assignment

CHAMPIONSHIP!

to be fair, replacing Jennings with Sipp is almost the equivalent of replacing Luis Atilano with Tom Seaver.

Guerra has an ERA and FIP under 4.

Just what the hell are we supposed to do with that?

So who do they move to put Guerra on the roster? Miller to the 60 Day IL? Grace gets DFA'd? McGowin back down?

Nats activated Javy Guerra for today's game and placed Jeremy Hellickson on the 10-day IL (retroactive May 20) with a strained right shoulder.

Strained right shoulder?  Strained control.

So three starting pitchers, plus Fedde and PTBNL? Have they asked about AJ Cole?

Ah...just so you all don't have to look: AJ is in the Indians organization, where he has a low ERA over 5 IP of relief.

So, how much is your blood boiling at this point?  Why do they trot out these pitchers who are hurt?  Has anyone ever said, "you know, I didn't tell anyone, but my shoulder never was right last year but the hitters never caught on that I was using more offspeed stuff because I had no fastball.  Even the dorks at Fangraphs wrote about my change in pitches, but they thought I was using my more effective stuff rather than covering for being hurt."

Are they trotting out injured pitchers, or are the pitchers not saying anything?

Or is it just give this guy a break with a phantom injury, and make it an excuse for all of his struggles.
