We obviously badly need bullpen solutions, and right now, there aren't many options available to Rizzo.  We don't have any real significant trade chips to dangle right now, and the price would be very high for any high leverage proven bullpen guy.  Rosenthal at least is a guy who has the potential to help and we've invested 8 million.  It's way too early to cut bait.  St. Louis surely regrets it with Holland last year, and we reaped the rewards.  Do we want to eat 8 million only to see Rosenthal picked up for league minimum and thriving elsewhere in the 2nd half?

Hopefully Rosenthal is level-headed about where he's at and where the team is at and can swallow his pride and go to AAA to regain his form.  Approach him with a plan to get him back in DC pitching well.  Everybody is behind him.  Nobody wants to embarrass him and see him fail.  The organziation took a leap of faith and believed in him.  He should understand that.
