One of my all time favorite sports personalities. I totally loved his old school, hard ass attitude when he managed the Nats. He respected the game, the players, and just about anyone he crossed paths with. A true class act.

Ah man, that puts the kibosh on my day.    I "hated" him as a player.       He was always playin' for the enemy  ....  Reds and Oreos.    When he got the Indians' job, my attitude changed.    Always liked him as a manager, what he represented and how he did it.    Then he was the Nats' manager and his spot was cemented.

Dug out his Reds' baseball card from my old shoe box.

A great career in the game after his playing days were over, for sure.  But his career as a player is wildly underappreciated vs. some of the other all-time greats.
