I've never had them check to see if my water bottle was open. Easily over 100 times and not once. So why go covert?

Back in 2012 and I lived in the area I would do the “DD wristbands for free soda” thing and then use it to make rum and cokes with smuggled in booze.  :hysterical: That was always oddly satisfying to me. Do they still offer that? Not that it matters. I drink my bourbon neat now.

It's nice to have $$$ to bribe employees at gate entrances

I get those flasks made for backpackers and tuck one into each sock and secure it with boot bands. I can get an entire liter of booze into the park (.5 liter per sock, more if I want to use my back pockets or waistband).
I'm seriously considering this tactic.

What won't work is those batting helmets with beer can holders on each side and the plastic straw leading from each side. I almost got through last year but a sharp eyed supervisor got me before I sat down

Be sure to get the 1 liter size...you can tell them that you're this guy:

I only use the “Sock Rocket” method when wearing jeans. If I’m wearing shorts, Booze in containers not containing metal can be hidden in a back pocket (you can get one of those rectangular 750ml plastic bottles in your back pocket and cover it with a jersey) or cinched into the waistband if using bladder flasks.

While we are at it, if you carry a knife and want to get it into the ball park, use the pocket clip to clip it to your underwear directly behind your belt buckle. If the metal detectors ping it, just show them your belt buckle and they will let you go through.

All that aside, I’m getting one of the new Flat Packs for this season. Should fall within their parameters.

I have had to run back to the car to leave it in the glove box. :(

I usually take the metro to the game so that’s not an option.

Leave your bag along the wall just inside the Metro station, they don't mind.

My packs are too expensive to just leave laying around. Can't have the DC homeless running around all kitted up in the latest tactical Gucci gear.

Somehow, I think that a backpack lying around in a metro station might not make it to the local homeless and instead end up at some sort of bomb range.

Particularly a camouflaged one.

I'll either run a Coyote Brown one or the Disruptive Gray one. I usually keep all my packs/tertiary equipment in neutral colors so they work with whatever get up I'm wearing depending on the AO.

! @LetTeddyWin

Following the recently announced ban on backpacks at #Nats Park, the @Nationals will provide free "Curly W Cinch Bags" to fans before the season begins. They are available at the Team @NatsTeamStore, and will be given away at the 3/25 exhibition game vs. the Yankees.

The Nats also announce that they'll have lockers at the park.

Do they fall apart in October during the NLDS like the team?

A company called Binbox will install 500 medium to large lockers at the right field and home plate gates where Nationals fans can store their backpacks for either $2 or $3 per hour depending on which locker size the fan needs. Those prices will cap at $10 and $15 during games.

Holy crap, that's expensive.  I was thinking $3 a game was about right.

I guess I don’t understand this at all. If you don’t need the stuff inside inside the stadium why would you bring the bag to the Stadium?

For people that come straight from work.
