Could Hank have been on steroids ?

Uppers were really common.

Definitely he could have been. His teammate Tom House said that steroids were rampant in the early 70's and two of his teammates went on to manage teams with notorious steroid users (Davey Johnson and Dusty Baker). Aaron had some of his best years from 35-40. All circumstantial, but enough smoke to say that it is impossible.

Sure, late in his career.  But there's no evidence anyone in baseball was using steroids before 1970, and by that point Aaron already had 550+ homers in the books.  Greenies are a different story, of course.

"I pretty much popped everything cold turkey," House said in a phone interview. "We were doing steroids they wouldn't give to horses. That was the '60s, when nobody knew. The good thing is, we know now. There's a lot more research and understanding. ...

Dozier and his wife, Renee, decided Washington was the best option, not only because the team is poised to compete for the National League East title, but also based on what he had heard from former teammates about what it’s like to play in D.C.

“I’ve had a lot of friends come through the Nationals organization that rave about it, so it was definitely a priority and one of the top choices on my list,” Dozier said Tuesday on a conference call with reporters. " . . . We just felt like the one-year deal with Washington is kind of the best fit for my wife and myself."

One of those friends was catcher Kurt Suzuki, who teamed with Dozier in Minnesota from 2014 to 2016 after spending parts of two seasons in Washington. The Nationals signed Suzuki to a two-year deal in November, and Dozier said the two chatted leading up to his own decision this month.
so, that's probably Sanchez and dozier that are here in part due to Suzuki.

But I thought our clubhouse was toxic?
Just the bullpen.  It gets boring out there, so they had to create some drama to keep things interesting.

The main cancer was cut off and removed.

Watch this team excel without the goldenboy bogging down everyone.
