Winterfest
« Topic Start: November 20, 2018, 09:34:36 AM »
Anyone going to Winterfest this year? December 1 and 2 at Nats Park. I remember the first one of these that they held at the stadium and it was a clusterfreak. The indoor areas (basically the club level) were too small to accommodate the crowds and it's going to be a disaster if the weather's bad. The last few at the convention center have been much better so it's disappointing to see them moving back to Nats Park.

Oh, and Metro's Green Line is going to be closed between Mt. Vernon Square and Navy Yard that whole weekend. Good luck...

I'm undecided but it's disappointing that they've moved it back to Nats Park and it always feels like a money grab by the team anyway. I enjoyed the smaller Q&A sessions the most but they did away with those at some point.

Seems like it's geared more toward kids and those creepy, stalker-ish super fans who have been dry humping an Anthony Rendon bobblehead for the past two months.

Navy Yard will be open but only to go southbound. Everything north of Navy Yard through Gallery Place will be closed.

Completely agree. I was all excited the first time they did and tickets were only $10. Now it's closer to $40 and just not worth it.

I’m going, but only because that’s when the Max Scherzer Meet and Greet is. And my company Christmas party is that day in the same area and I have a room booked nearby.

Probably they only figure it's worth marketing to those willing to pay $40 for a ticket. One way to filter out the riff raff.

Amazing.  Very different commodities were being exchanged for $40 in that general area a little over a decade ago  :pimp:

Does anyone want to go on Saturday that doesn’t have a ticket? I’ve got an extra one I am willing to give away.

Have met Rendon, Kendrick and Soto so far. Kendrick signed his ball #47. So I assumed he’s taking that and Gio isn’t coming back.  :hysterical:

1st bobble head will be Juan Soto next year.

It was so much better at the convention center.

Me too, I want to see how the construction is progressing around the ballpark.

Paid my respects to the President (all the WWII vets) the other day at the Rotunda.    After roamin' around the National Gallery and watchin' the 3-D movie, "Aircraft Carrier", at the Air and Space, I headed to Nats' Park to pick up my stein.    It's well made and worth the trip   ...

BTW   Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeriste they're building everywhere on Half ST, SE.       Good news is the Bullpen is still there.
