Don't forget one year they signed Derek Norris early then brought in Wieters and moved Norris. I don't see this as precluding a move for Realmuto or Grandal. It just allows them to walk from a Realmuto deal if the price is too high, and leaves them with a solid alternative if they get beat out for Grandal. Heck, you could even see them bring in Ramos to pair with Suzuki if the price is right. Meanwhile, you have vet to pair with Reed if he turns out to be the real deal.
