https://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/la-sp-dodgers-20190308-story.htmlAs bad as we think we have it with MASN the TV situation in SoCal is bizarre.
I missed this--wonder who will take her place on espn??https://nypost.com/2019/03/09/jessica-mendoza-makes-first-appearance-at-mets-camp/
Nobody. She’s still keeping her job in the booth.
Which is weird that an employee of the Mets will be in the booth.
So if she interviews players, can the team file tampering charges?
There are de facto employee of the Nats in the booth for every Nats game. These aren’t journalists.
Espn is a neutral national broadcast and they usually get sit downs with the other teams’ stars- do you think other teams would be happy if Rizzo got a one on one with their players?
Mendoza is the Mets’ new GM?
Mendoza is some kind of special assistant to the GM.
Brewers players vote to give Bob Uecker a full share of playoff money from their 2018 run, he is donating it to charity:https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2019/03/10/brewers-players-always-have-treated-legendary-bob-uecker-one-their-own/3108760002/
A-Rod is a Yankees employee and ESPN also employs a Cubs employee (David Ross). Mendoza is not the first nor the last broadcaster of a "neutral" broadcast to be an employee of a team she is broadcasting.
Aren’t those basically ceremonial positions. She actually works for the GM.
a-rod works with yankees players and coaches, especially minor leaguers. no matter what level of involvement, there's a conflict of interest, but espn has already said that doesn't matter to their broadcast teams.
