With Philly signing McCutchen, it looks like they're no longer in the Harper sweepstakes.Looking more and more like LA...
The last line in that article is classic...
at which point he purchased a home in the Franklin Farms neighborhood of McLean.
I don’t think this is very telling. He was either looking at a major contract here or somewhere else, with a lot of uncertainty. Why renew a lease if you even had the slightest bit of doubt that you would stay there. I didn’t renew my lease in Florida because it would have freaked me if I ended up taking a “possible” job offer up in the NCR. I did take it, but that is neither here nor there.
Timing is everything. And sometimes a landlord will let you extend month to month, or sign a 3 or 6 month extension that in Harper's case would have gotten him through the signing period. But maybe he never bought a lot of stuff so moving is no big deal.
I'm hoping that the hotdog signs a $2 billion contact with the Rays or Phillies.I want to root against him sooooo much....
Is this where I say NANF?
Do we know for sure which player he's carrying on about?
I assumed since this is a thread about Bryce that's who he was referencing?
What would be more embarrassing for Royce...to take less that what the Nats offered, or to still remain unsigned on opening day?
Why not both?
Unsigned, but that won't happen. Here's a nightmare scenario for Bryce: Boras waits it out until mid-January, not satisfied with teams' offers. He ends up signing with the White Sox for 10-years, $325 million with a NTC and an opt-out after 3, essentially a similar deal to what we offered. He starts the season having to explain why he signed with a bad team and why he didn't get his mega deal.
