There's a (seemingly strong?) rumor that Bryce has an agreement in principal with the Phillies. Personally, his signing with another team was always a strong possibility and I could accept that, but if the rumor turns out to be true that he chose the Phillies, IMO' that's 1) Totally uncool, 2) Spitting in the face of he long time friend, Jayson Werth, and 3) Shows his love of DC was only good while the Nats were paying him,

I will not miss him, and I'm stoked and looking forward to watching an outfield of Soto, Robles and Eaton. Here's hoping they all have a great and healthy season.

Oh and for those members who remember me from way back when I was a WNFF regular, you can breathe easy, I have no intention of starting any wars... Peace out...

A hoax I can live with... But OMG started by a Phillies fan? I'm shocked.... Not really.
I honestly don't care who Harper signs with, as long as it's not an NL East team. If a few Nats fans get their wish and he resigns with DC, I truly believe his doing so could weaken the team. As it is right now, we will have better OF defense. I know his moving between RF and LF skewed his defensive numbers, but he's still not a great right fielder. If he does sign, we might have our emergency catcher and future first baseman. Even with all that, the Nats will be better with him playing for someone else.

It seems very likely that Harper signs with an NL East team.

mindfacting: I think Harper really wants to stay here, we'll see if he ultimately agrees to terms with the Nats.

Mystery injury in 2016 followed by ugly knee injury in 2017 followed by an off year in 2018, what GM wants to take that risk for ten years?

There are a handful of teams (Texas, Arizona, Toronto, Colorado) that have plenty of cap space and dreams of contending. All the noise is out of Philly but any or all of these teams could be in the hunt and they'd have no interest in making that public unless they made the deal.

The best is Reddit where the faint of heart can hand out dislikes when they can't handle the truth.

How likely is it that the Nats are willing to start the season well over the luxury tax?

The Lerner's should be very grateful that Boras took this client to FA instead of them getting stuck by extending him early.  They have a better roster now that they would have had, and stayed under the luxury tax...

They need to extend Anthony with the savings they'll have with Zimm coming off the books next year...

Yes, and then an additional bullpen arm can be acquired.   And if you don't want to bank all that $$$$, how about KIMBREL for a few years? Sean Doolittle is a FA in 2020.

The Nats have a $6.5 MM option for Doolittle in 2020, with a $500,000 buyout, so unless his arm falls off, I doubt Sean will be on the market until 2021.

Doolittle loves it here because being in DC helps his with his activism.

I think it’s gameplay and not Harper related.

I think it's both.

I like Harper, I really do.

But the only feeling I have if he signs here for 300/10 is a stomach ache

Couple Vegas sources say today it's definitely the Phillies. 106.7 indicating the same.

Best of luck to Harper. Better run to first now

Can we get Machado, move trea to center, Robles to RF. Trade Eaton?

If this is true, he’s a straight up jerk. Good Riddance. I’ll look forward to booing him in Nats Park.

I didn't see it online anywhere?  Or was it just on the radio?
